Authorities caution identification may be uncertain as they pursue a nurse Frances Miller assaulted while parking her car. A local woman remains under doctor care after a October night assault linked to the same suspect group.
In St Marys Pa on Oct 28 Vv Stroup of Freeport RD Armstrong County was released on his own recognizance as investigation into the death of Carl Culver an elderly farmer of nearby Emporium proceeds. Culver died after being struck by Stroup when the driver could not see him due to drizzle rain and approaching lights as he neared Emporium.
Thousands of migrating geese were trapped on the Niagara River’s currents for about 24 hours near the falls. Hunters and natural hazards caused heavy losses, with an estimated 10 000 geese involved and about 200 reported victims. The birds struggled against the river until rescue and dispersal were possible.
Two women died in Erie region auto accidents over the weekend. Mrs. Katherine Jazarowick 48 of Ambridge Pa died at St Vincent’s Hospital after being struck by a car driven by William Sickex 32 of Corry late Saturday. She was hurled 60 feet and died of skull fractures and internal injuries. The driver was not held pending an inquest. A second crash on Parade Street Erie injured and killed nearby pedestrians including Mrs Clara Johnson 82 of Erie who was crossing the street when struck by Louis Fromknecht 2 Erie, who was released after an inquest.

Michael Hober 61 a Columbus township resident died by his own hand on his farm early Sunday. His wife found his body hanging from a tree about 8 am. A note is believed to indicate the act. Family troubles over months cited as motive. Survived by widow, three sons Victor Columbus John Spring Creek Michael Jr Youngstown, and three daughters Mildred Caster Jamestown Joan Cristiano Corry. Funeral Tuesday at 2:30 pm from the home conducted by Rev. W H Garnett and burial in Pine Grove cemetery.
