French Creek Man Dies In Area Hunting Accident
Alexander Wroblewski 73 of French Creek died after a 12 gauge birdshot gun fired near a tree stump while rabbit hunting with his son Joseph R. The shot struck his left hand and face as he apparently lost his footing and triggered the gun. He died at 3:25 p.m. at Corry hospital after being rushed there from French Creek. Investigators note the outside hammer shotgun fired accidentally. Funeral services set for St Matthias Church in French Creek with burial in St Matthias Cemetery.

Rescue Tot From 11 Foot Hole
A 2 year old boy was rescued after three hours from an 11 foot hole near his rural home in Magnolia Arkansas. Fifty volunteers and oilfield workers dug a 6 foot wide trench to reach him and a plastic hood with oxygen was used. The child Johnny Carmichael was unhurt and handed to his mother.
