Gilson challenges Sen. Joseph R. Ziesenhelm in Erie County as Democrats aim to expand power.

Approve Storm Relief Sewer System Program
Continues from Page Oney in the railroad east to the creek. Plans provide for a pen ditch west from Mare Creek to near Pennsylvania avenue and concrete construction from that point to the inlet. The project would be one of the largest ever undertaken here and would probably absorb every available man in this end of the county, requiring eight months to complete. The city's share of the cost is estimated at approximately $21000. The program would meet the bulk of the material expense involved. Council would first have to float a bond issue but the municipal borrowing power is adequate to finance the project without going to the people for approval. Council members will confer with WPA officials at Erie within a few days to work out the program and an early meeting is expected to consider the bond issue for the municipality's share.
