Clarion Man Kills Woman and Then Shoots Self

Clarion resident Joseph Myer, 72, fatally wounded by George Haigh, 45, at the Myer home on the outskirts yesterday afternoon. Haigh then killed himself as Mrs Teabelle Myer attempted to call for help. coroner indicated an inquest may not be necessary and a murder suicide verdict seemed likely.

Fifteen Taken To Atlanta To Begin Sentence

Fifteen men were sent to the federal penitentiary at Atlanta for terms ranging from one year to three years after pleading guilty in a mail fraud case. The group includes H A Johnstone, a Philadelphian college graduate, who received one year and four months. The others, led by Charles J. Davis and Frank Warąnski, faced sentences from one year to three years for crimes including mail fraud, motor vehicle theft, and government property theft discovered in 1924.

City Plans Roadbed Upgrades To Reduce Rail Curves

Damages Awarded in Pennsylvania Accident Case

In County court today two joint written opinions were handed down involving Tom Iinson of Detroit and Joseph Iinson of Pittsburgh. They awarded $20,000 damages to the North Esteem Electric Service Company of Pennsylvania for the death of the parents in an August 1927 accident near Venango, Pennsylvania.
