A school board subcommittee cited a Supreme Court ruling to prohibit religiously segregated student meetings. The panel held that using school time or facilities for sectarian purposes violates policy, and no pupil or group may be barred or admitted based on creed color or race.
The board approves a five point policy governing meetings with pupils by non school persons with major revision. It requires principal approval and limits meetings to general information during unscheduled activity periods and only with staff oversight. Violations revoke permission.

Everett Washington AP reports a Braniff International Boeing 707 crashed into river near here during a violent maneuver at 12 000 feet. Four aboard were killed and one body found. Pilot Russell H Baum 122 of Seattle took over and attempted a controlled landing with the remaining engine. Missing crew include George C Hagen 28 Renton Wash J A Berke and S Staley Braniff employees. Tail section survived. survivors were later hospitalized not seriously hurt.
Jay Tar friends and relatives of Robert Webster seek reasons for the 20 year old plastics specialist's renunciation of American citizenship. Webster, who worked at the Rand Development Corp plant in Cleveland, appeared at the U S embassy in Moscow and handed a signed statement renouncing citizenship after reportedly being granted Soviet citizenship. His wife Martha and family back home in Zelienople express shock as they recount missed letters and a rumored Russia tour.
Mrs Anton, a year old housewife, left her two young daughters in a freezer and then hanged herself after her husband left for work. Police reported a history of mental disturbance and recent despondency following back surgeries. The couple’s other children, Alfred and George, were staying with Anton’s sister for the school year in Florida.
Erie officials report the Erie Railroad objects to placing an old Climax locomotive on Center street ground citing danger to youngsters and driver distraction at crossings. The despondent widow of a Peruvian diplomat confessed to police in Allentown that she poisoned her five children by giving them a mixture of 74 sleeping tablets with sugar and orange juice under the pretense it was cough medicine. She and her husband had faced financial hardship since his death two years earlier, and she attempted suicide after killing the children.
Campbell Ontario obit reports Hugh Martin president of Outboard Marine Go of Canada from 1946 to 1949. He died Sunday in Sheboygan Wisconsin after longtime service to the company.
