Woodcock limits are five per day, 10 per season, and winter season runs December 27 to January 1. Archery deer season enters its third week as bow hours are daily from dawn to 6 30 pm EDT.
In 1948 Drake succeeded John Flanagan as chief when appointed by Mayor J. Fred Kinley. He introduced several firsts in the local police setup and, upon formal retirement yesterday, was the oldest city employee in service. At his start the force had only chiefs and patrolmen, until Kinley created a rank system that elevated Drake.
Washington AP report says President Johnson had all stitches removed from his abdomen after gall bladder surgery last week. Dr. George A. Hallenbeck supervised removal at Bethesda Naval Hospital. a routine dental checkup was planned today. Johnson remains on a minimal recovery schedule with improving condition and light sleep between examinations.
Three persons were injured at 1:20 a.m. when the car they rode in left the road to avoid an oncoming truck south of Spartansburg. Drivers were Joseph Mennetti of Jamestown and Ronald W. Sines of Titusville. Injured passengers included Gary Miles, Sherry Miles, and Christine Morris. Trooper Thomas Carr continues investigation.
With two days left, the World's Fair has seen two armed robberies at snack shops. A Brass Rail outlet lost 6200 dollars in cash while a Chicken Delight stand took 2500 dollars in small bills. Authorities investigate the incidents as visitors continue to flock to the fair.

Harland J. Rue II aged 36, formerly of Sheffield Pennsylvania, president of CPO Associates, was shot five times during a fist fight with his office manager at the Suburban Station Building in Philadelphia. James R. Simmons of Stratford New Jersey, 39, admitted the shooting and faces homicide charges. Rue died at Hahnemann Hospital. Rue had opened the agency three months earlier and had a Naval Academy background.
Pittsburgh AP reports Lawrence V. Jackson 17 a Carrick High School football player remained in South Side Hospital with a brain concussion from a melee after Carrick and Perry game. Police say Perry players crossed field after final whistle, a scuffle followed, Jackson lost his helmet and was struck on the head with an unidentified object. Perry won the game 1
Indianapolis judge reduced a 90 day sentence for driving a stolen car to 60 days after an 18 year old, Jerry Rogers, kissed his mother goodbye. The Crimin al Court judge, Saul I Rabb, commented that the gesture showed he was a nice boy before ordering the youth to serve 60 days at the state farm.
Lewis Anderson of North Clymer refuses to claim a $20,000 bequest left by his father Harold T. Anderson who died May 1 1964 in Kane. An attorney pushed for acceptance while three certified mails were refused. The estate totals $40,000 with the remainder going to six cousins. The money is held in a Smethport bank awaiting court decision on whether Anderson forfeited his share.
Franklin M. Reck, 68, a nationally known author of boys books, died Thursday night at his typewriter on the eve of releasing his 25th book. A Chicago native, Reck wrote The 4H Story official history of the 4H movement The Romance of American Transportation and Automobiles among other works for boys.
In Saigon era battle briefings U S B 52 bombers from Guam struck a suspected Viet Cong logistics complex in Quang Ngai province. Ground forces reported 8 Viet Cong killed in scattered clashes and 28 killed in a Mekong delta ambush. Other engagements near An Xuyen, An Khe, and near the Cambodian border yielded varying casualties with no confirmed enemy totals.
