Police say Warren Ohio youths John Fritch 15 and Alex Selanile 16 confessed to stealing John A Blatt of Warren’s car and abandoning it near the Rex theatre The pair were arraigned in Warren court and returned to the Ohio reformatory at Lancaster after authorities planned to prosecute in Erie County.
Mr and Mrs Mele Capwell of Pleasant Street narrowly escaped serious injury in an automobile crash near Silver Creek New York yesterday afternoon. A Buffalo motorist’s car sidewiped the Capwells’ vehicle causing injuries including a fractured nose and damaged ears to all four occupants.
In Jacksonvill e Florida on October 14 three men died when a wing collapsed and the plane plunged near Hillsland. Victims were Ralph U. Green 45 a real estate operator and sportsman of Daytona Beach and Hearst McClelland 45 a real estate salesman of Daytona Beach. Green piloted the twin plane which had taken off from Daytona for Detroit that morning.
President Roosevelt traveled by train through Missouri to rally support for his campaign. Crowds greeted him in St Louis with cheers and riverboats blowing whistles as he spoke on conservation and education. He defended his policies against Landon’s economic plans and urged broader opportunities for youth.
Manila Herald reports more than 100 miners drowned as floods in the Zombates region swept their homes into the sea near Suble Bay. Cambria county detectives and state police say Albert Goglick, 50, confessed to killing neighbor Stanley Soolavczyl in Puritan. Police linked the confession to a pile of clippings, obituaries, and letters found in Goglick’s home as part of the evidence in the “reign of terror” era crime spree in the mining settlement.

United Press reports Harrisburg October 14 as Dr Gary C Myers head of Western Reserve University parent education declares America a nation of snobs at the Pennsylvania state congress of parents and teachers.
