Phenylketonuria is a rare metabolic defect causing mental retardation unless treated by diet. Blood samples mailed to Philadelphia lab and urine diaper test confirm diagnosis. Action Against Barnett Stayed

Montrose Teen Killed in Route 29 Crash
A car leaving Route 29 near Montrose flipped into an unoccupied house, killing one of three occupants. The deceased was 17 year old Wilhelmina Michaels of Montrose. State police said the vehicle, traveling south, swerved to avoid another car from a driveway.
