Mother To See Son First Time in Half Century

City Police issue weekend citations and minor crashes

Police over the weekend issued numerous citations for violations of motor vehicle code and reported three minor crashes. The incidents include two for improper passing and running red lights, plus one for excessive speed.

Storm Called One Of Worst In Century

Infant body found in Bradford attic may go to state lab

Decomposed newborn was found Saturday afternoon in an attic above an apartment in Bradford. McKean County Deputy Coroner Charles Frame said the body may be sent to the State Police crime laboratory in Harrisburg after approval by District Attorney Gordon Foley and County Detective Glen Mercer. No identities or parents are known. police expect a lab report in about three days.

Normal Baby Born After Mother Dies

In Berlin New Hampshire a one pound girl was delivered by Dr Leandre Beaudoin at St Louis Hospital half an hour after her mother Cecile Berthiaume 28 died in an automobile crash. The infant named Cecile was normal and healthy the father Gerard Berthiaume 29 said. The baby began breathing about 15 minutes after birth with oxygen and mouth to mouth aid. Bad Weather Delays US High Altitude Nuclear Test

Honolulu weather officials report heavy clouds and rain squalls over Johnston Island lead to a 24 hour postponement of the United States high altitude nuclear test. Corry Country Club Raises Initiation Fee to $100

At the annual meeting the Corry Country Club approved doubling the initiation fee from $50 to $100 for the coming year. Treasurer reported high profits and dining room revenue at record levels. Five directors were named: John Chillock Ed Kaiser George Orcutt Jack Wells and Darwin Wolcott. Retiring directors were George Orcutt Walter Bertram and Robert Ott. A revised bylaw plan envisions rotating three directors each year with elections set for next Tuesday.

Boy Killed By Uncle Rifle in Portage

Portage Pennsylvania. Stanley Brats 13 died from a high powered rifle discharged by his 15 year old uncle Frank Hillman a deputy. Coroner John Branas Jr. said the gun was being held when it discharged accidentally and both boys believed it was unloaded. The rifle shot the boy in the abdomen.

Zalineck Wins $2 738 Suit in Erie County Court

An Erie County jury returned a sealed verdict in favor of Zalineck Inc of Corry over Motorola Communications and Electronics in a suit over a 1958 purchase of two way radio equipment. Motorola claimed 273?3 was due. Zalineck argued the units did not meet stated range. The court ordered a sealed verdict, which was opened this morning by Judge Burton Laub.
