Washington, Oct 11. Bishop John Ward of Erie Pa urged the national Episcopal convention to endorse the 1925 New Orleans prohibition resolution. He urged unity with Prohibition and anti narcotic laws and urged church members to set an example of obedience. The resolution was referred to the committee on resolutions for consideration.
At a regular board meeting the Corry Hospital Association elected Ruth Clyburn of Portsmouth Ohio as superintendent to assume duty November 1. The board approved a 1920 31 state appropriation request of 15000 and 3000 from the 1928 29 community ghost. Anna B Kerns bids farewell after eight months as superintendent and praise for her work.
A collision between a passenger and freight train under Charfield station bridge near Bristol left eleven dead and many injured. Rescuers feared more bodies beneath the wreckage as they work at the scene with all available rescue equipment. By dawn nearly all victims remained unidentified.
The police department received a new patrol truck purchased from the Ford agency and slated for use next spring. A special truck delivery crew handled the transport.
