Sparta man among four convicted on larceny counts
A Sparta man and three others from Titusville and Spartansburg were sentenced in Warren County Court for larceny of oil lease equipment. Thomas Gibson Russell Kinnear Jerry Pyle all of Titusville and Richard Sandor of Spartansburg face jail terms two days to six months and must pay costs.

Fire destroys Clyde R. Thorpe Co. plastics plant at Sugar Grove
A $150000 blaze at the Clyde R. Thorpe Co. plastics plant in Sugar Grove, likely sparked by spontaneous ignition, destroyed the one story building.
