Inquest Declined in Auto Fatality Case

Deputy Coroner Mark Pullom announced no inquest will be held into the death of William Kelly who was struck by a car driven by Mrs. J H Smydell on West Smith Street after a nearby train derailment left pavement slick. Services for Kelly are set for Monday at St Thomas Church with a requiem mass.

Union City to Have Hospital

The Golden Rule Club and concerned citizens interest Union City in a joint public hospital project. A committee led by Toba Stover Co McLeam and B H McGilnock reported doctors affirm the current equipment at Mrs Elizabeth Selstein’s privately run hospital is up to date and building and equipment could be bought on satisfactory terms. A board to operate the hospital was formed with doctor endorsement as a goal for swift progress.

Four Die In Crossing Tragedy At Dupont

Four men were killed when struck by a Lehigh Valley locomotive at Dupont near Pittston. Victims include Frank Tercel and his son Christ, both from Cathers, and Charles Congillier and his son Michael, all aged about 50. They were en route to the No. 6 colliery of the Pennsylvania Coal Company. The accident follows prior deadly crashes at the same crossing, where work on an overhead bridge began last week to prevent future incidents.

Child Struck by Automobile in City Streets

Four year old William Miller son of Mr and Mrs Frank Miller of 1942 spring street was struck by an automobile driven by John Casey south of the city while playing on West Pleasant street about two o clock this afternoon. The child was taken to Conwy hospital and is believed seriously injured.
