Italy and Yugoslavia formally settled their nine year dispute over Trieste and agreed on a division that mirrors occupation lines. Zone A remains with Italy including Trieste port. Zone B with Yugoslavia. About 4,000 Triestines witnessed the announcement in Plaza Unita. Minority rights are guaranteed for Italians in Yugoslav territory and vice versa.
