American hotel offers American kitchen for all tastes
In the Wal dort Astoria a new kitchen will prepare typical American meals to order. Men head the culinary department while women will handle strictly American dishes for those who prefer cabbage and boiled beef. The plan aims to please travelers fresh from Europe with honest fare like ham and eggs, pie, corn bread, and pancakes. Concerns linger about availability of fresh fruits and garden vegetables for guests from the West.
