Radio Free Speech Clash Draws Debate Across Nation
The article surveys a federal radio commission case against a New York station broadcasting socialist views, arguing it to be an issue of free speech versus technical violations. Norman Thomas defends the outlet as protected expression and likens radio to soapboxes, framing the broader question of radio liberty in a modern age. It also critiques G Wells as a futurist proposing a world dictatorship with centralized authority. The discussion shifts to traveling statesmen who ease international ties, noting Briand, Stresemann, and MacDonald moving toward pragmatic diplomacy and closer U S France Britain cooperation amid looming global economic concerns.
