Reports show 93 percent progress in corporate division drive

The United Fund Corporate Division met at the Corry Motor Inn to hear a progress report. Norman D. Shahan announced corporate giving totaled 54 275, with a goal of 37 000 and a division target of 35 percent of the total 106 000 goal. The luncheon by Cooper Energy Services preceded the formal drive set for Monday. 124 Year Old Man Dies and Receives Warm Farewell

Streaker Bound Over for Erie County Open Lewdness Trial

William Pele, 22, of 636 East South Street, bound over to Erie County court on a charge of open lewdness after reportedly running naked behind the Red Barn at 8:20 p.m. September 4. He fled from a police officer, leaving clothes behind in the yard and trunk area before heading west toward backyards.

Mark Beckwith aims for law after Edinboro studies

Mark Beckwith of Bear Lake, a 1976 Corry Area High School graduate and Edinboro State College student, plans to become a lawyer to serve the country. He participates in a state Vocational Rehabilitation program giving him vans, ramps, bathrooms, and aides, with class breaks to support his education. He notes the Edinboro program is likely unmatched statewide and will rely on tape recorders and note sharing to keep up. He says politics interest him and he worries lawyers were highlighted by Watergate era.
