The 1947 Woodcock and dove season starts October 10 and runs to October 24. Pennsylvania migratory shooting hours, set under Federal and State law, are from half an hour before sunrise to sunset daily. Eastern zone includes Corry and surrounding areas with specific hours listed.
Harrisburg reports the Pennsylvania Aeronautical Commission released the first comprehensive aeronautical chart as part of its air safety program. Secretary Oms J. Matthews notes 11 of 35 emergency landings in January to June 1997 were due to pilots being off course. Free copies go to registered aircraft owners and airport operators. state sells the chart for five cents.
Harrisburg Oct 2 The 1947 edition of Hunting Accommodations In Pennsylvania was announced by the Vacation and Recreation Bureau of the State Department of Commerce. The booklet lists by county hotels inns camps and other overnight spots for hunters and includes game laws protectors addresses and other data. Copies available from the Bureau in Harrisburg.
