Grangers Gather for Large Dinner Event Today

Installation of Corry lodge officers last night

Last evening the Ladies of the Maccabees installed the Corry lodge officers chosen earlier. Carrie Palmer was the LHC falling official and the ceremonies, attended by an unusually fair audience, placed Nettle Young as Commander and Maury Draker as Past Commander among others. A jovial luncheon followed.

Erie Sailor Kills Wife Child and Self in Tragic Shooting

Charles Hanson an Erie sailor killed his wife Teresa Lins their hired girl and himself in an early morning shooting. A 28 calibre revolver was used with a fatal shot to the wife's head and a head wound to the girl. Hanson died later at a hospital. A nine year old daughter witnessed part of the tragedy and police noted prior marital trouble.
