H A Logan of United Beining Co. buys the tannery complex including buildings and 30 employee houses. Machinery to be dismantled. refinery expansion planned along the tracks. Dwelling houses to be rented. This sale marks the end of the tanning industry in Warren borough.

The State Health Department announced six deaths in Lancaster from monoxide poisoning believed to be caused by gas water heater exposure. Victims include Irvin E. Lienderson, his wife and two children. The emergency response followed reports of suspected poisoning at a Lancaster home.

Olean Gangsters Facing Charges in City Court
In Olean, Anderson 22 and Jomph Jedet 23 were charged with first degree assault and held by the County Grand Jury after a holdup at the Hilliard Parlory on West State Street. They allegedly forced their way in with revolvers and threatened the owner and James Petty. Police arrested them after officer John Randall entered the scene. Examination was waived in city court.

Two Bucktail Veterans Living Celebrate 83rd Birthday
