Two Die In Crash Will Be Buried at Meadville

Funeral services will be held in Meadville for Mr and Mrs Horace B Canfield who died in an auto accident near Springfield Ohio Saturday. The bodies were sent to Meadville accompanied by Mrs Ganfield’s father Louis H Byham and Albert Detrick of Cleveland. The couple were in a Nash sedan struck by a westbound freight car on the Indiana Columbus and Fasterm traction line. The freight car reportedly moved at speed about 35 miles an hour, brakes applied but collision unavoidable. Mr Canfield suffered a fractured leg and Mrs Canfield a fatal neck injury. The crash site was described as on the traction line near the crossing. Authorities indicated the disaster involved a railway collision with the auto carried about 50 feet.
