New York Nov. 24 brokers remained in offices as markets closed. Wardrobe of activity continued with books being cleared after a market slump and sessions planned for early next week. The stock exchange asked member offices to close on Thanksgiving for rest, with Friday and Saturday open to clear trades. Allied Chemical closed at 250, echoing year 1920 levels. In St Louis John J Bett, a broker, was found dead in his home bathroom from an apparent drug overdose, with a poison bottle nearby.
Harrisburg Nov. 28 The Public Service Commission allowed Pennsylvania Railroad to switch Elgin to a non agency station. Protests from Wigin businessmen and the borough were noted but hearings found no inconvenience to conduct future freight business at Corry.
