LOUISVILLE AP A disappointed and disgusted Penny Ann Early says she will not give up her bid to be America’s first woman flat track jockey. The 25 year old was to ride Witness in the ninth race at Churchill Downs but the race was canceled due to a lack of riders for other horses. She plans to ride Saturday then seek a California jockey license. Track officials and fans criticized the delay and threats to boycott any race with Early entered. the ninth race was finally canceled amid boos.
