$70,000 Christmas Savings to Be Distributed Here

Over $70,000 in Christmas savings will be distributed by the city’s two banks early next month. Citizens National Bank will distribute over $40,000 to about eight hundred subscribers. The 1928 club closes November 20 with arrears urged to settle. December 1 the new club opens as arrangements are made to distribute about $40,000. The banks report a new high in savings despite a general downturn in business.

Reading elects Socialist treasurer aims to save fees

William Hoverter, newly elected city of Reading treasurer, promises to return about $14,000 in annual fees over his four year term. Ricker Bound Over to Court After Hearing

C M Rikers of 2212 West Alain steel was bound over to the west term of Eile county count on a charge of failing to stop following a motor accident. Hearing before Tystice Johnson at Union City Hall set a 400 bond for release pending grand jury action. Ricker was arrested in an accident east of Union City five weeks ago the driver alleged to have failed suny. The injured boy, Rolie Peterson, son of Alton Peterson, remained unconscious hours after being left on the highway. He was not believed to have serious injuries and is reported to be recovering.

Saraceno pleads guilty to old liquor charge

Local Knights Templar Attend Erie Meeting

About twenty five members of Clarence Commandery Knights Templar left for Erie to attend the grand lodge meeting. The group traveled on one of the largest West Ridge Disses chartered for the trip. Grand officers’ visitation is expected to draw hundreds of Knights. The ceremonies will begin with degree work this afternoon, a supper at the temple at eight, then resume the ceremonies and lodge sessions. The gathering is described as one of the rarest in recent months for the northwestern section of the state.
