Packers May Clinch Western Title at Polo Grounds
The Green Bay Packers can clinch the Western Division title by beating the New York Giants Sunday at the Polo Grounds. A win would also threaten the Chicago Bears’ four-year dominance and likely end the Giants’ title hopes in the East. The Redskins and Eagles clash in Washington as a key East matchup, with the winner positioned to face the Packers in the playoffs. Other notes mention hockey’s Red Wings ending Toronto’s six-game streak, baseball commissioner Landis’s age and potential replacement talk, and Navy football’s move to Baltimore for a larger crowd as a war bond event.
