Gilmore near death after suspected suicide pact

Gary Gilmore and Nicole Barrett were found unconscious in separate locations after overdosing on sleeping pills in a suspected lovers pact. Barrett remained critically ill in Provo. Gilmore was in serious condition at University of Utah Medical Center, with doctors monitoring for pneumonia and recovery.

Junior Firemen form Stanford Hose Company in Gerry

About a dozen volunteers enroll in the Stanford Hose Company Junior Firemen as the city starts a youth division. Councilmen Turn To Fist Fight In Morgantown

Washington AP report says retail beef prices will rise to a record average about 1.49 per pound in 1977, up from 1.39 in 1976, as cattlemen reduce herds due to previous losses. Charges Dropped Against CMH and Two Doctors

The Erie County Court dismissed with prejudice a malpractice suit against Corry Memorial Hospital and two doctors, James Hileman and John E. Brown, after the plaintiff failed to present required statements at a pretrial conference. The suit on behalf of Kerneth Yoder and Linda Jukes claimed negligent care after Mrs. Martha J. Yoder was treated October 1 1975 and died later that day from a claimed blood clot.
