Legion Tri County Council Meets Here in Corry
The Erie Crawford Venango Tri County Council of the American Legion Auxiliary met in Corry at the Legion Home with Elmer C. Cartier Unit 365 as hosts. About 12 units were present. President Mrs Donald Netzler led the meeting with invited guests including department membership chair Mrs Donald Baker New Bethlehem western director Mrs Jack Gunter Albion and western education and scholarship chair Mrs Homer Seward Titusville. Pictured are council officers and unit leaders. Efforts emphasized included supplying comfort items for Erie Veterans Hospital patients and the Santa Claus gift program for hospitalized veterans in Pennsylvania. The next meeting is January 8 at East Erie Post 771 in Erie.

Open House to Explain Catholic Faith at St Thomas Church
The Catholic Daughters of America court No 85 announced an open house at St Thomas Church on November 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. Sponsored by Catholic Laymen of Corty the event aims to clarify Catholic Faith for all denominations with refreshments by St Elizabeths Guild and CDA members. A $5 donation was approved for the Christmas Seal program and a membership drive is ongoing.

Honor Fred Schwab Jr Rotary Boy Of Month
The Corry Rotary Club inaugurates Boy of the Month for Corry Area High School seniors. Fred Schwab Jr., son of Mr and Mrs Fred J Schwab Sr of 118 Franklin Street, chosen for leadership, citizenship, academics, and school contributions. He received a certificate. The award for December will be given at the Christmas dinner on December 10.

Bridge Club Holds Howell Session at Hotel Corry
Corry Bridge Association members and guests held a four table Howell session at the Hotel Corry with an average score of 42. Winners included Mrs. Morgan Beverly and Erkki Ralhesalo 80 percent Dr and Mrs Kelsey 48 percent Mrs F H Bartholme and Mrs Frank Graft 48 percent and others from Union City Titusville Jamestown. Before the game a business session covered the American Contract Bridge League Master Point plan with a call to review October and November bulletins.Next week four turkeys will be awarded to the Master Point players in a special game.

The Columbus Elementary School PTA met with 288 members after a campaign. Dr John Lange spoke on emotional problems to a receptive audience.
