Lake law revisions studied for safer watercraft rules

Jamestown November 1 tentative revisions on lake safety in Chautauqua County are studied by the Navigation Commission Lakes Safety Committee and the Legislation Committee to draft an improved navigation law. The changes would lower the age for operating high power boats from 14 and remove aircraft references replacing them with watercraft. Marvin Chindgren says old rules are antiquated and the new law aims to update while not affecting current violations. The revised law is expected by November 21 for review by counsel and the Navigation Commission, then group representatives will discuss it with sportsmen.
