X ray examinations for tuberculosis were held today at the State Armory by the Erie County Health and Tuberculosis Association in cooperation with Cory public schools and St Edward's parochial school. Morning sessions tested 11th grade students. afternoon covered 5th and 8th grades from public schools and both grades from St Edward's. A fee of 50 cents was requested from willing students, while all were examined. Additional grades 0th and 12th could be tested for a charge. The program aims to test all students in regular intervals. No industrial plant employee examinations were scheduled. others could request screening for a fee of $1.
An eighteen month old child was said to have been taken by its soldier father from a Tomi area on the south side where relatives cared for the mother’s child. Police hadn’t been notified by morning and authorities searched Blue Eye district and Spring Creek area for the father and child. The mother and grandmother sought the child’s return and reported the incident but no official word was received from police yet.
