Manchurian Regime Under Jap Control Sparked Damages Award

Damages totaling 55000 were awarded to John Savko and his parents Frank and Anna Savko of Columbus in a sealed Warren county court verdict after a four day damage suit over an accident at highway work. The case stemmed from a dynamite cap explosion that blinded the Savko boy. The township had sought a new trial, and the verdict reduced the prior award by 600. The jury awarded 4500 to the boy and 1000 to the parents.

Buffalo Woman Speaks 10 Club At Corry Meeting

Mrs Ethel Munsey of Buffalo addressed the Corry Woman's Club this morning at 10 30 in a session led by Mrs Corinne Dean North Center street. She spoke on current events highlighting wheat prices and Russia Germany war debt disarmament and Air Mail route completion. Her book review covered To the End of the World and Back by J Walker McSpadden detailing travels and museum exhibits. The talk drew about thirty five members and was described as very interesting.

United motorists oppose Pennsylvania gas tax raise

Organized motorists led by the Pennsylvania Motor Federation voted unanimously to oppose Governor Pinchot’s proposed three cent gasoline tax hike aimed at funding more than 100 million dollars for unemployment relief. Father of four found dead in Pennsylvania home

In Aringld, Pennsylvania, on Novi 14, 46 year old Thomas Ksninsii was found hanging in his basement. Police reported he was unemployed for seven months and left behind four children.

Ship Owners Among Five Lost In Heavy Seas Near Colon

A huge wave swept five men from the Diesel schooner Baden Baden after it abandoned ship in a sinking gale near Colon Panama. Captain Hewitt Walters and owners Adalfo Sho neck and Hans Lau perished along with two others. eleven sailors were rescued by the U S naval minesweeper Swan and landed last night. Walters suffered three broken ribs and severe contusions from a collapsing cabin.

Not Guilty Plea by Bluebeard in West Virginia

Harry P Powers alias Bluebeard pleaded not guilty to five counts of first degree murder in Clarksburg West Virginia arraignment. Judge Somthern set December 7 for trial and planned a later hearing on a change of venue. Fifty officers guarded Powers as he left jail for the federal building.

Complaints Investigated Over Erie Salvation Army Paper Drives

Residents questioned the Erie Salvation Army visits to Corry for collecting papers magazines and other items.
