Corry residents are urged to join the American Red Cross Reserve Chapter during the twelfth annual roll call. The city quota is 150 members, part of a nationwide drive aiming for 5,000,000 enrollments. Send a dollar to Mrs. W Mt. Houghton or Mrs. T Giblin. receipts will be mailed.
Rev. Frank A. Wimer spoke at the Rotary Club luncheon at the Hort Corry delivering an Armistice Day message urging peace through negotiations to ensure friendly relations among nations. The address was timely and well received. A delegation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars attended, with post commander Dr Mette Amy and comrades F W Brown and others. Music fitting Armistice observances accompanied the program.
A splendid program is arranged for the High School Glee Clubs concert in the Senior High School Auditorium on Friday evening November 16th. Miss Sigile Muay, director of the task in the Schools, will direct the program. A free crowd is expected. admission is twenty cents.
United Press reports that about $100,000 was stolen from the registered mail vault at the Stevensville post office. The payroll cash was bound for the Pronto pint of the Wollardre Joe and Vin Haer company via a Pittsburgh bank route. Two men were arrested in Wheeling, West Virginia, as investigators moved to recover the funds.
The United Radiator Corporation local plant did not plan a December 1 shutdown. Plant officials said operations would continue on the current basis with no expected shutdown and no reason for concern.
The Comy Motor City s will hold its annual meeting on Friday December 14 at 8 o'clock in Municipal building. Members urged to vote and attend as reports of officers and club business are presented.
The land for the purchase and erection of the War memorial unveiled in City Park was used for a subscription drive. The Mutual Co MUtual Telephone Co supplied a receipt and $50 toward the cost, and about 250 or so subscriptions remain needed to meet the total.

Lakehurst New Jersey November 1 The naval dirigible Los Angeles sails from Lakehurst to aid in locating survivors from the Vestris disaster. The ship leaves today and is expected to reach the scene by daybreak tomorrow with aircraft assisting in spotting wreckage.
Senator Thomas Walsh testified as the principal government witness in the perjury trial of Robert W. Stewart. He said Stewart told a Senate committee he knew nothing about the disposition of 3 million in Continental Trading bonds. Cross-examination raised questions about consistency with prior testimony.
Charles Firster, indicted for driving while intoxicated, pleaded guilty in Erie County Court. Sentence was suspended for now. He faces a $200 fine after the morning plea. Firster was arrested weeks ago on West Church Street and admitted intoxication but denied driving.
Rescue vessels searched the Atlantic off the Virginia Capes for survivors from the Vestris after the liner capsized in a storm. Lifeboats and rafts drifted for hours. by November 19 reports list dozens rescued by the American Shipper, Myriad, and other ships while coast guards continued the hunt for missing rafts and additional survivors.
