The Warren County Historical Society will sponsor a Sunday open house November 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Honorable Charles Warren Stone Museum. It is the first public viewing since the museum dedication on September 12. The building, built 1905 1907, is on the Pennsylvania Register of Historic Sites and Landmarks. Regular hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The former A J Hazeltine house was purchased last fall with a gift from Joseph H DeFreen and now showcases two hours of exhibits including a large firearms collection and Warren County artifacts. Proceeds from other events fund building improvements.
Corry Area High School seniors sponsor an annual cheese sale to raise funds for activities. This year orders will also be taken for salami. Community support is urged to help reach a target of two thousand dollars.
Rosemarie Malek and Jack McCaslin exchanged wedding vows at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in a 1 am ceremony on Saturday October 30. Officiant John Lucas led the double ring rites as families from Corry joined the couple. Bride Rosemarie wore a pink crepe gown with lace trim. maid of honor Michelle Anderson wore burgundy. junior bridesmaid Taiihi McCaslin wore a rose gown. Best man Donald McCaslin and ushers James Lamendala and Lt. James Anderson attended. Reception followed at 12% West Smith Street hosted by Jack Eagon. The couple, both employed at Associated Spring in Corry, were joined by out of town guests from several states. Rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s sister Donna McCaslin at 912 West Pleasant Street.
The Carter Hill Community Aid met at Mrs. Richard Nordlund a 14 members. Plans were made for the annual harvest dinner at Wattsburg Grange Hall on Sunday November 1 at pm. Members urged to bring table service and a tureen. Birthday greetings for the month extended to Esther Moore Nellie Hodge Ruth McCray and Doris Goodwill. Next meeting December ath at Mrs. G Glenn Davis with Nettie Lindberg cohostess NABP yate exchange featured. Nordlund served dessert.
