Corry Area School District students enjoy a rare break from report cards as delays by the trucking company postpone distribution. Cards were expected yesterday but arrived late. they will be issued next Wednesday, giving students a brief respite before the inevitable reckoning.
A 16 year old Curtis L. Chase of Spring Creek slid his car from the high school lot onto East South street, striking a tree on Helen Gifford’s property at 821 East South. Damage to the car estimated at 500 dollars and to the property at 520 dollars. Weather forecasts predict 1-2 inches of snow today and Friday night with continued cold and icy roads across the tri state area. Interstate 80 in Mercer County faced a long closure as PennDOT salted ice. about 30 miles of the highway were shut for four hours ending with late preventive action.
