General LeMay flies nonstop 6350 mile jet record aboard a KC135 tanker in Argentina. Curtis E. Mey aided the U S Air Force crew as the aircraft landed in Buenos Aires at 5 50 p m local time after a 13 hour 2 minute flight. The Air Force hailed the milestone in jet aviation and noted the KC135 can serve as a transporter for troops and heavy bombers in addition to its tanker role.
