Chemists and pharmacists in drug companies are given special labor considerations and may be exempt from certain rules and regulations. Drug stores being open long hours seven days a week including Sundays and holidays with lunch counters add to their appeal.

Federal talks opened with limited topics discussed while the Communications Workers of America reports about 120000 members out of work or honoring picket lines. The Bell System notes two thirds of lines remain operational with automatic service largely unaffected. Continued disruption expected across long distance and manual exchange sectors.
Spring Creek township directors plan to open the new 35000 dollar three room concrete block school during Thanksgiving recess if plans hold.
