Kennedy Says UysS Won’t Be Bluffed In Talks
President Kennedy asserted the United States would not be bluffed and would push for talks with Soviet leaders. He called on business leaders to support enforcing strategic restraint while the nation weighs nuclear fallout risks and aims to extend aid to Southeast Asia. The week saw reviews of policy, with Eisenhower era programs guiding the approach and Maxwell Taylor named as key adviser. Berlin remarks defended Adenauer against claims of revanchist aims, underscoring caution on postwar alliances.
