In a largely uneventful local election the Republican machine won key posts with Ben Starr and Frank England securing major party nominations for city offices. P C Miller edged John Paulson by five votes for constable in the First Ward, while other wards saw mixed results and a county road bond measure failed despite modest turnout.
City stores to close at noon Friday as Armistice Day observed with near complete business suspension. Banks and offices to follow. Mayor Bracken issues proclamation urging participation. A.W. Thompson Post to sponsor ninth annual Armistice Ball at State Armory featuring Miller's Music Makers. Football game at Jewell Field between Orange and Black of Wesleyville High at 2 40 pm.

Thirty cans of amamouth bass were received in the city from Marquette Wisconsin and distributed along Lake Columbus and nearby streams. William Russell supervised the shipment while Ralph Bly Al Thornton J S Pawston and Ward Alexander led local distribution. Alexander and Co. donated a truck for transport to planting sites.
West Washington Street agent Sullivan escaped with a slight wrist cut after a five car collision near the passenger station shortly before 11 am. The Ohio driver was reportedly going slowly, preventing more serious injuries as the car struck Sullivan.

An army plane ships food and medicine to Newport, overcoming road travel obstacles.
True bills against defendants in Corry cases were returned by the Erie grand jury. Walter Ross indicted for larceny after raids on farms west of the city. Geertson pleads guilty and testifies against Ross. Geertson on parole at arrest. Guy Guignon faces prohibition charges for transporting liquor. bottles found in a bag. Ross to be tried Monday at Erie. Guignon’s trial set for the following day.
In Bucharest on November 9 a sweeping censorship measure was adopted laying five to ten year prison terms for discussion of succession to the throne. The government aims to crush support for former Crown Prince Carol and bar opposition calls to restore Carol or dissolve the regency.
United Press reports new clues in the disappearance of a blonde woman missing for three weeks. Rev Dascombe Porebush of Canandaigua NY received tips tracing movements of an unknown woman seen at several points in Claremont as searchers extend their woods hunt near town.
Sheldon Clark Sinclair Oil official and alleged contact man in the Burns espionage case appeared before a grand jury in Washington. He refused to discuss testimony, citing possible self incrimination while stating he may testify tomorrow. The proceeding follows a grand jury investigation linked to a mistrial in the BallSin trial and espionage charges against Sinclair executives.
Early returns from Erie County at 2 o clock indicate a large lead for Kent in county commissioner races. MacLean Rogan and Gidste were proclaimed elected to the board while Lavery trailed, with bond plans for a $1000000 road program supported countywide and at least $200000 state aid anticipated.
Indianapolis retained turmoil as the city council selected A Slack, attorney, to fill the expiring term after Mayor John Duvall resigned amid ouster proceedings. The move ends weeks of unstable city leadership and redefines the local government path.
