Berlin confirms Kiev fell to Soviet forces after a decisive offensive. Vitor Andreoli an escaped lifer from Easter Penitentiary who fled October 24 was shot and killed by state police early Wednesday in Chester. Police said he opened fire on officers forcing a drawing of weapon. authorities released no further details pending official statement. Andreoli had been convicted in a shooting of a corrections officer.
