George R Steiger a 27 year old Albion postmaster shot himself with a single barrel gun at his home late Thursday afternoon. Five Are Killed in Battleship Blast

San Pedro California reports a deadly incident aboard the U S S Colorado during target practice. An anti aircraft gun exploded tearing the breech and sending shrapnel across the upper deck. Barn Fire Destroys Clark Lindsey Farm Structure

A barn at Clark Lindsey’s farm three miles south of Corry in Concord township burned last night after an explosion of gasoline ignited by a lantern. The blaze, fueled by kerosene poured into a container, destroyed the barn and threatened the home and other outbuildings. Neighbors helped contain the fire, but the barn and its contents including a tractor, automobile, and farm machinery were lost. Loss is estimated above $2,500 with no insurance.
