The body of Pfc. John D. Rogers adopted son of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans will arrive in New York today on the way to California for burial. The 18 year old died in Frankfurt after an Army dispensary visit. autopsy cited a blocked windpipe. Services set at Forest Lawn Glendale with burial in the family crypt.
Arizona state flags are sent to Lt. Col. Frank Borman for Gemini 7 aboard the spacecraft. Astronaut James Lovell will join Borman in the mission to rendezvous with Gemini 6 in space.
U S Marines in Vietnam are training 92 snipers to deny Viet Cong movement. Capt Robert A Russell says the program aims to keep enemies beyond effective range of infantry. Snipers use Model 70 rifles with scopes, deployed about 300 yards ahead of defenses.
Rockwell-Standard Corp completes the acquisition of Lyon, a Detroit based auto parts and stainless steel sink producer, for 21 million dollars. The deal includes Lyon's subsidiary Canadian Motor Lamp Co Ltd. Lyon operates four plants with about 1 750 employees. Canadian Motor Lamp operates three plants in Canada.
A man robbed a Corry dentist yesterday, taking 200 dollars and 100 phenobarbital pills from Dr. Merle Amy at 724 North Center Street. Police traced the suspect after he approached the doctor as he prepared to leave, then fled west on West Trying Street.
A Republican sweep won all non mayoral city and school district offices. City Council winners were Jack Downey and Russell Brat, defeating Democrats Dave Miller and Jack Zerres.
