Washington November 2 The price wage policy under the favored plan appears largely negligible for any price increases. Bowles outlined that general wage rises likely cannot trigger price hikes except under strict conditions. Wallace warned of potential unemployment of four to seven million if buying boom ends, while Bowles signaled four to five delays before auto price ceilings are announced.

Union City hunter Goodwin, a 7 er from Union City, was found dead in Pittsfield township woods. Coroner Ed Lowrey reported heart attack as the cause. He had gone alone hunting when he did not return and was located by a search party about a quarter mile from the farm house. He was a Bear Lake native who had lived in Union City with his sister Mrs Dore Holland. he leaves several nieces and nephews.
The temporary Wartime Honor Roll erected on the Municipal Building lawn by Veterans of Foreign Wars was removed yesterday to storage at Davison-Fugle Company’s plant on Franklin Street. Local leaders plan spring efforts to compile complete service member records for a permanent memorial, with help from Erie County Histories Society and district Selective Service offices.

Corry youth Seaman 1/c Bob Williams, survivor of the Pearl Harbor era, is due to arrive in Corry tomorrow morning. His parents Mr and Mrs Theo P Williams and sister Captain Virginia Williams will meet him in Washington then travel by train to Corry. The family has lived in Saratoga California for two years and will regroup at the Williams home while in the city.
Labor disputes push total unemployed from 243000 to 268000 as 16500 CTO textile workers strike in 14 New England plants Maine New Hampshire Connecticut. About 5000 idle in San Francisco Bay due to AFL and CIO machinists walkout, with 1000 textile workers in Maine leaving jobs over wage disputes. Eight Connecticut mills and two New Hampshire mills strike over closed shop demands with no wage gains. Another 8000 workers elsewhere in Bay Area industries report shutdowns. Overall about 10000 workers in roughly 200 plants affected by the walkouts.
Washington reports government efforts to stop a spreading Greyhound bus strike affecting 19 eastern states. British and Indonesian leaders met with Dr Soekarno to discuss the ceasefire.
