Garland Man Killed in Auto Crash

George Warner 68 a Garland dog trainer died when his sedan struck a bridge abutment on the Roosevelt highway six miles west of Warren. He was alone with a large bird dog. severe chest and facial injuries and possible skull fracture. Vehicle demolished, boot and glass littered the scene. State patrol and coroner officials examined the accident as a misjudgment rather than speed. The car went to a Youngsville garage for further work and the case was not expected to be opened for inquiry.

Rootville Man Struck By Auto On Union Road

A Rootville man was struck by a car on Union Road near the Roosevelt highway intersection around 7:80 PM. He sustained injuries and was taken to Corry Hospital. initial reports indicate the driver’s lights failed, the car left the roadway, and another vehicle struck him while assisting.

Van Dresser Retires After 40 Years With Railroad

Vermette Van Dresser of 315 Hone Avenue retired November 1 after four decades with the Pennsylvania railroad. Born October 6, 1866, near Corry he spent youth on a family farm then moved to Stewarts two miles south of Corry along the Ol Greek line. He began work December 15, 1890, with A. J. Walsh, and his long service spanned the expansion from Oll City to Corry and beyond.

Rhythm Girls Give Concert at First Presbyterian Church

A sacred concert by the Sayin Girls of Brie drew a large congregation to the First Presbyterian Church, following strong reports of their music in Corry. Under Mrs. Huber, the group presented vocal pieces, whistling solos, and varied instrumental numbers featuring sylophones, marimbaphones, thimis, drums, organ, and an electric vibraphone. The eight year old daughter of Mrs. Huber impressed on drums, with critics praising the ensemble's dignified, expert work. Joseph Sherrier opened the program on organ, played by Miss Allee Messenger.

Three Erie Residents Narrowly Escape Train Collision

In Erie yesterday afternoon a man named Smith driving on West Smarth Street crossed into the path of Buffalo division train 903. His wife and daughter escaped serious harm as the locomotive struck the car front end and pushed it off the tracks. The car was damaged but occupants were unharmed beyond shock. the cause cited is failure to heed crossing signals. The engineer reportedly worked for New York Central out of Tiie, adding mystery to the incident. The wrecked vehicle was towed to Hast Main fleet garage for repairs.

Train Victim May Be Missing Corry Man
