Franklin Venango County Judge Lee A McCracken sentenced former Rouseville special officer Frank W Peterson to two years probation and a fine after he pleaded guilty to pointing and discharging a deadly weapon. Peterson fired six shots at a Titusville man’s car along Route 36 near Pleasantville, while in uniform. no one was hurt.

Nine inmates at a New Jersey state prison conducted a sitdown strike today in a dormitory lacking beds. They demanded more recreation, better food, and changes to visiting room rules, then returned to the mess hall for meals and to a bare room.
