Four Yuba City High School choir members, traveling to sing at another school, were injured when their chartered bus crashed near an exit. They are listed in good condition at Mt. Diablo Hospital as fellow parents in the hospital waiting room offer support.

Deaf Stoddard an 18 year old from 511 Hato saw a car fail to negotiate a right turn and strike the east berm hitting a tree. The car traveled about 40 feet and slammed into another tree. Stoddard was not injured. police said the car was totaled.

Rogers Structural Steel employees donate their time with company president Jimal Robert Ott Jr leading. Local 762 United Steel Workers and Ironworkers from Erie Heal 66 plus other trades assist. Completion aimed for November with two full basketball courts and other facilities.
Gas costs more near resort areas than in non tourist zones as AAA reports regional averages 3 to 17 cents higher per gallon at stations near resorts. The highest price spotted was near June Lake California with regular at 71.9 cents per gallon.

SANDUSKY Ohio AP A 19 year old Connecticut man Michael Maslar of Meridan was arrested in Lincoln Nebraska in connection with the killing of a Pennsylvania insurance agent. Erie County Sheriff Gladwell said Maslar will be extradited to Ohio. Also noted was a separate pursuit involving escapees from a Pennsylvania penitentiary farm work detail near Corry.
President Ford and Leonid Brezhnev signed a five year arms accord allowing American inspectors to visit Russian sites during certain underground tests. The pact aims at greater nuclear transparency and seeks to reduce tensions while encouraging broader strategic negotiations.
Efe County Personal Property Tax Administrator John Seaman announced the office met the June 1 target for tax bill delivery and data to county collectors. More than 1,000 February 15 returns remain. A 2 percent rebate applies for payments by July 31.
