Gasoline and Oil Tariffs Could Raise Prices Slightly

The Ford administration projects oil import tariffs will lift consumer costs by about 19 cents per $100, mainly through higher gasoline and fuel oil. Gasoline could rise from about 53.39 to around 56.3 cents per gallon, possibly higher if tariffs shift more burden to oil products. U.S. producers may offset by raising domestic oil prices, with broader effects on plastics, fertilizer, and transport costs.
