U S Army helicopters collided in mid air near Bien Hoa air base killing nine Americans and injuring two others. A Marine was also killed in a separate Chu Lai attack as Viet Cong and U S Marines fought near Da Nang. Wreckage strewn over ground. eyewitness said ships collided about 50 feet up.

Geoffrey A Russell is named valedictorian at Corry Area High School for 1965 with two tie for second, Helene Britten and Martha Houser, who will deliver commencement addresses on June 16. Also noted are extensive student activities and 20 additional honorees for high scholastic honors.
Erie County Salary Board approved raises for 30 employees following a Wage and Job Analysis. Attorney William A. Peiffer of Corry, an assistant district attorney, saw pay rise from 3500 to 4335 dollars annually, one of five ASDs to receive increases. Several Corry courthouse staff were not included. Hospital administrator Arthur C Brueckman led the hospital raises from 9600 to 11500 dollars. Other offices saw pay gains as well with more discussions and a June 1 implementation target.
