Daily Dozen From the Medical Society of Pennsylvania
Most intellectual prodigies burn out early in life. Not so with Robert Burns Weadward. He entered MIT at 16. He earned a B degree in three years and a PhD in tow. At 24, Weadward was an instructor in chemistry at Harvard. Dr William H Doering is another bright young man running as an instructor in organic chemistry at Columbia. These men, at 27, have made a remarkable discovery. They have succeeded in duplicating quinine. Tests are under way to determine its medicinal value. If it controls malaria, these youths become immortal.
