Court Hears Blatt Pleas in Philadelphia Ballots
In Harrisburg the state Supreme Court opened to hear Democrats arguing over 540 Philadelphia absentee ballots in the U S Senate race. Genevieve Blatt and Michal A Musmanno faced off as lawyers sought to challenge the board of elections actions and stop or continue ballot counting amid a heated party contest.

Corry Man Hurt In 3 Car Accident
Corry State Police reported weekend auto mishaps include two crashes. In the 3 car collision at a rural Wattsburg intersection Kenneth R. Wright 21 of Erie failed to stop and struck Mary Ann Kieklak 21 of Wattsburg causing $1200 damage. Kieklak received facial and torso bruises at Corry Memorial Hospital. The second crash on Route 277 four miles south of Corry involved William Reese 23 Spartansburg overtaking Joe Alcorn 34 Titusville. Reed 18 of 512 Lake Avenue swerved and struck the Reed car, injuring Reed and causing total damage of about $1,275.

Man Arrested After Wife Slain in North Versailles
Jesse Berry, 34, of North Versailles Township, is jailed as police investigate the shotgun death of his wife Beatrice Berry, 34. Autopsy cites shotgun wounds to face and neck. Berry reportedly walked 4 1/2 miles to the township police station to report the incident. He alternately claimed discovering her body and that the gun discharged accidentally. Police say he dismantled the shotgun and disposed of parts.
