Archie Willis, driver and companion, escaped with severe injuries. Snyder, born January 23, 1915 in Sparta township, lived most of his life in Corry. Survivors include his parents, a stepsister, grandfather, and other relatives. Body at Bracken-Rest ing Funeral Home with services at 2 PM Thursday.

Washington May 22 The U S Navy the world s biggest now has almost as many ships and boats as it did in 1938. It reported that 10401 vessels of all categories were added to the force of 7695 existing on December 7 1941. The armada includes landing ships and craft, patrol boats and minesweeping craft with the remainder in patrol craft and other vessels.

Eleven typewriters and other equipment were stolen during the night from Colestock High School Titusville Pa a janitor found the theft this morning all machine covers were removed and only the newest models were taken loss estimated at 800 dollars a similar theft had occurred at a nearby Tionesta school two months earlier.

Evelyn Harkeom, 16, faces formal charges for aiding James Henry Kent in his May 7 Somerset jail escape. Police say she may have misled investigators about Kent’s actions, who was at large within 10 miles of Somerset for 10 days after the incident.
