Revived OPA Judgements Stir National Debate On Regulations
The National Grocers Bulletin notes vast OPA rules amounting to about 7 000 pages, unreadable in six months. The Missoula Times argues such rulings are too murky for uniform enforcement and calls for revived court avenues and simpler regulation to protect traditional business methods and allow a fair markup above cost. The Dies Committee loses key leaders, weakening its ability to push new funding and shaping public stance on loyalty inquiries and press freedom.
