United Press reports worsening German troubles amid wartime London declarations. Allied advances claim most US boats mobilized by Britain, with enemy planes downed and German aircraft found to be of poor material and substituting weak stock.
Reports describe anti government demonstrations across Europe with police failure to control crowds. Troops and gunners deployed. violence reported as Valera supporters clash with authorities in London and Ukraine troops push to defend grain stores amid strikes and muttered calls for democracy. American air actions in France noted with several planes downed.
Washington May 20 The Navy department faced a flood of inquiries after reports claimed a submarine had been launched. The department said all suspect cameras since the incident have been thoroughly investigated and found harmless.
Washington reports forty five American casualties from today’s clash. Seven listed as fatally wounded, one dead from wounds, one dead from incident, seventeen severely wounded and three lightly wounded. Names accompany the casualty list.
At Oakdate in Pittsburgh on May 20 two hundred Aetna plant workers remain unaccounted for after the first great blast. Officials admit the death toll may rise as 264 of 424 workers on site last Saturday are unaccounted or missing. Survivors and wreckage are shown, with many bodies covered in debris amid the plant devastation.
Announced plans for a Lake Pleasant event tomorrow evening features a dance at midnight with a Volunteer orchestra led by Mr Kastor. Invited attendees include servicemen, measures for transportation and supper to be arranged, with cars from the city expected to participate.
Washington May 20. Henk Wilson will be Major General Payton March to be Chief of Staff and head the War Department. Conference with Secretary Baker led to Senate approval, naming March as Acting Chief and elevating him to lead staff duties. March known for long service and proven results.
At Pluburgh on May 20 witnesses described blasts at 12 03 destroying the Zonal plant then ten minutes later the T N plant and eight minutes more the M A plant. A lax entry check allowed plotters access with fuses as officials and workers testified.
The American Red Cross launches its War Fund drive with a five foot clock in a downtown window. Clock shows daily readings on funds raised as Corry leaders call for enthusiastic participation. DGAR MUNSON issues a call for intelligent, widespread support urging every committee member to work hard. The clock, painted in national colors, will be moved tomorrow to the Knights of Columbus balcony for visibility.
The 112th Regiment with Company A arrived safely overseas according to confirmation received May 11. News indicated the regiment left Gunn Haycock and landed at Camp Hancock, with advance details noting the 1724 division and unit movements. Cards sent home reported the ship's safe arrival and the men awaiting reunion with families, as official word circulated locally.

Mrs Archison and Mins Stell a hidlow and other former Corry residents now in Aittechurch attended a city parade Saturday marking the Aetna plant explosion. The incident, which caused deaths and injuries, drew members of the Women's Motor Corps in the Transportation division of the American Red Cross.
Major Raoul Lufbery famed American ace and former Lafayette Squadron member died today in a running fight with an enemy plane. Recalled as a pioneer of the American air service, he served with Marc Pourpe and later joined the American aviators after the war began. He was born abroad and adopted by a French family, with a globe spanning life before his wartime service.
